The project came just at 400 yards, actually just under. At the last edging peak I had only seven live stitches left so I picked up the first stitch that I did the knit cast on through. Tomorrow I will graft the edges closed and after work go hunt for trim, fabric, ribbon and thread–and for needles with large eyes.
I love that some woman created this over 100 years ago, probably from stitch patterns handed down through her family. Who knows the friendships that shared the patterns before there were written patterns. What matters then and now are the connections of the Heart and Hands that brought those stitches into Today. It is an amazing thing to be part of such a lineage. I am humbled.
