Yesterday I finished mending the six couch cushions our dog shredded as a puppy. It took a month or so, what with closing the studio and all. Of course, doing this work at home, the cats were a HUGE help. lol!

Began a new crochet shawl for the soon to be etsy store. Using Noro lace weight and I am loving the look! Today, plan on spinning as my reward for finishing the couch!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Have fun and stay safe!

Busy today…repaired two more couch cushions shredded some time ago by beloved dog. Both dogs needed grooming–so out came the shears. Daisy, the smaller of my two dogs(photo below), submits as long as I do it. She totally freaks out if I try to take her to a groomer. Whitney, gets matted fur by her ears. She is 45-50pounds of dog and I never knew she could curl herself up as small as she did tonight. Sheesh!

After all that, I got to work on a lace crochet piece–could be shawl or maybe sweater…hmm. Anyone out there watching Fargo? It’s creepy but I can’t look away from this version!

CLASH OF CLANS: Our little clan, only six days old with 30+ members, won its first war! AWESOMESAUCE! We worked together really hard and even though the end was a real nail biter, we won!

Hope your days are fun, too!

After visiting with several customers this week and hearing what they were liking on Ravelry, it seems right to make sure the intel gets out there. Kate and Christine both have some wonderful favorite designers which got lost in the multitude of patterns that come through Ravelry each day. There are also a couple that I noticed along the way. Here’s hoping something inspires you. Very popular: short knit socks. I found one called Pinky but had trouble downloading it — let me know if you find it! xx M.E. and Summit Yarn

I don’t have photos of everything but let’s go for a summary: Suzy working on sweater but very busy at work. Jamie working on Tickle Me sweater test knit and Cable Brannigan (half way) AND nursing four abandoned kittens every four hours. Kate is working on Juneberry; just finished chart A. Chris has finished her red sweater, Shadow and it is amazing. She has multiple socks and the shawl, Multnomah on needles. Pat S. has socks on needles and I’m waiting for our next lesson. Kelly has the Sunny Days shawl on needles. Cheryl is immersed in Jade Sapphire Maju Silk. And I am waiting to see what Brenda, Tola and Martha brought back from MSW. Jan began Cable Brannigan and is working at some baby pods. Rachel is finishing a crocheted blanket for her father. I think Robin is still on a sock but also loving her garden — and who doesn’t? Photos below.

We had a great time at the Studio today. Everyone’s husband is on the S@#* List–they all must be on the same cycle. We laughed together as women struggling for sanity because otherwise all that would be left would be to cry. Knitting group tonight was even more fun–and yes, there were some hops (beer) involved.

Jamie is working on the test knit of my newest design. Robin is nearly done with her scarf for her son, Matthew. AND, Cathy (a fabulous crocheter) learned to do both the knit stitch and the purl stitch! YAY!!!

I played with my new Irish crochet book today and made two motifs using a technique I never heard of before. Now, I am wondering how I can incorporate that idea into knitting. Hmm…

The photo of our kitten Mozzie, well, it speaks for itself. Sigh…

I look over Ravelry almost every day. I take screen shots of what catches my eye or of things my customers might be looking for. Of note, those of you who follow The Yarn Harlot: She snuck in a lovely, memorable sock pattern last night called ” Old Joe” — defo one for my needles.

In no particular order here is my current, huge collection — I wish you Inspiration!

There are various parts of Pigwig (see pattern on Ravelry) sitting on my table at the studio. However, today I worked on my part of a swap project with Cheryl. We agreed I would knit two hats and she would crochet the flowers for both. Then one would be hers and one a demo for the studio. So, hers got knit today and mine is on needles. The pattern is a hat for a three year old in DK weight yarn with crochet flowers in a bunch of colors on top from a book called (I think) Itty Bitty Hats. Actually, the book only has a newborn size and I wrote the three year old size after a little research. Photos below. I have it on good authority, Summit Yarn would be happy to share the pattern free with purchase of yarn for the project!

Sunset tonight was gorgeous although it was hard to get a great shot with electrical poles everywhere. The photo follows. It really was spectacular with the moon showing in the sky while it was still daylight. Robin and I had a lovely knit and visit today; listening to beautiful classical music–some by modern composers I discovered I liked very much. Chris was in briefly and found the newest yarn for lace knitters — it just arrived today. It is ahhhhhh.

FRIDAY: MARTHA WELLS– Happy Birthday to Ewe!
